Purple Pretty Postage

Hello all!  I hope everyone out there is doing well.  I hope you have all seen the new Summer Mini and love it as much as I do!  My upline hosted a fantastic swap.  A bunch of us got together and we all designed different samples using 2 different sets.  I would like to share with you one of the projects that I made.

Pretty, right?  I am in love with this set.  It is called Pretty Postage and it matches perfectly with the new Postage Punch.  I have been having a lot of fun playing with this set and the punch too.  For this card, I colored the stamp with the markers (Pear Pizzazz and Concord Crush) and then stamped the image on Whisper White cardstock.  I punched it out with the Postage punch and layered it on a punched scalloped square of Pear Pizzazz.  I used the Concord Crush DSP and cut strips of Whisper White using the Tasteful Trim die and my Big Shot.  I layered these with a strip of Pear Pizzazz and tied a bow of Organza around it.  I adhered this to a Concord Crush base and used dimensionals to pop up my postage piece.  Voila!  A super pretty, easy card.  Hope you like it too.

Nursery Suite - It's not just for babies!

Finally I can breathe and get back to posting.  I have had a very busy few weeks, with birthdays, and parties, and the Diva Trade show, and Scrapfest 2011, and then the flu whisked through our home.  but now, everyone is well, my craft space looks like a hurricane ran through, the laundry is piled pretty high, but the is time on the horizon.

Today I wanted to share with you some really cute things that I have made using the Nursery Suite Designer Series Specialty paper and the coordinating Nursery Suite Quick Accents adhesive die cuts.

My kids are no longs babies (as they like to remind me), but I Iiked these sets so much that I had to find a way to use them.

For my daughter (who just turned 9) I made a scrapbook that I can put her most adorable baby pictures in

It is done with paper bags!  Pretty fantastic!  There are pockets and flaps and spot for journalling.  I cannot wait to pick picture with her and tell all sorts of embarrassing stories.

I also made her a really cute butterfly mobile for her room.  She has hung it by her wondow so that the breeze makes them fly.

I used the butterfly and petal cone dies and my big shot (love it!) to cut out the shapes.  I added some ink and pearls (of course) and she loves it!
For my youngest son, I made a really cute frame and photo block.  He was so happy to see them and immediately cleaned off the top of his dresser to have a "safe spot for them".  Had I known he would clean I would have made these sooner.

Sorry about the glare from the flash.  Photography is not one of my strong suits.

I chose 4 pictures for this block.  Each one represent a different age group for him.  He is only 6 so really it is almost one picture from each year.  This one is one of my favorites.  He was loving his chocolate bunny so much, but when we couldn't stand the goo anymore, we took it away.  Man!  Was he cheese off!  So, naturally, I snapped a pic.

Anyway, even with all that I have made, I still have lots of the paper and die cuts left!

More Bunny Treats!

Hi again!

Now that Easter is over, I can share with you some pictures of the treats boxes I made for my little bunnies.  I didn't make anything for Logan, but he assured me that being almost 20 made it ok for him not to get a cute packaging.  He still got the treats, but they came in their original bags.

Anyway, here are the one that the younger kids got.

Wow, sorry for such dark photos.  That is what happens when you forget to take pictures before you put something out at midnight.  Thankfully, you can still see how adorable everything turned out.  The kids loved how bored the rabbits looked and, of course, the bag of "bunny turds" got a lot of giggles.

Easter Treats!

Hello Ladies!

I have a great class to share with you today.  You can find all the information on my Events and classes page, but I will share some pictures with you here today.

Super cute!  You will get to make all three.  Here are each of the projects close up

Now, you don't have to give them away to anyone (it is candy, after all), but if you have kids, they will flip for these.  I know mine really love them.

Speaking of kids (smooth segue, right?) . . .

Were you at the Children's Festival in Lethbridge yesterday?  I was.  My friend Lisa and I had a great time and a fantastic display.  I will have more pictures this week of our setup, and some of the projects I had on display.  It was a fun, but exhausting 10+ hours.

Thanks for stopping by.

Blah, Blech, and Will it End With Me? + Some Scrapbboking

Hi all,

Long time, no talk.  Sorry I have been MIA.  I have been a Mom in Action, or is it a Mom in Agony?  Either way, I am here now, sort of alive.

We had a string illness here unlike anything that anyone has ever seen before.  Well, the Black Plague may have been a little worse, but still.  First the flu made its malicious rounds, then, just when I thought we were all recovered and over the hump, BAM!  Andrew gets Strep throat.  So, after a few days of me thinking he is only complaining to get out of cleaning his room, or doing his chores, or eating with proper table manners, he spikes a fever.  Headache + Sore throat + fever + 6 year old = very tired Mommy.  After about 4 days of antibiotics, he is well enough to go to school.  Yaaay, a day to catch up on all those things that didn't get done because I had a sick guy attached to me.  Now, I know what you are thinking . . . "But that is really only one week, 10 days tops, where were you the rest of the time."  Hang on, I'm getting to it.

So, that day the kids come home from school, Andrew is hacking up a lung, and Charlotte is looking a little worse for wear too.  Everybody to bed early.

That night Charlotte wakes up, she has got a very high fever and  both her ears hurt.  Andrew is still hacking all night long too.  Both are home again.  Charlotte has a double ear infection, and Andrew still has strep throat.  More antibiotics for both.

Thankfully, after a few more days, both kids got better, were able to return to school, and I got ready to breathe a big sigh of relief.  Only, I couldn't.  I could not breathe.  Yep, my turn.  Somehow, I got both of what they were carrying.  I have a fever, congestion, sore throat, ear infections, and a hacking cough.  So, that is what I have been doing this past week.  Just trying to stay alive.

My husband, bless his heart, pointed out that there is a positive side to this.  He said to me, "On the plus side, I feel fine." Smiley  He thinks he is funny.

But, I do have a great scrapbook layout to show you.

I was surfing the net (pre-illnesses) and found a fantastic quote that really encompassed how I felt about my life.

Kinda a cruel joke now, but then, yes, I was blissful, and I will be again, once I recover.

Anyway, after I found that quote, the idea for the pictures just fell into my head.  I think it makes a great scrapbook layout.  Lookie:

You can see, the whole concept of the page was happiness, true bliss.  Mine.

Here are some close ups of the pages.  The first page is my hubby and I.  I used some old chipboard letters and sponged them with Rich Razzleberry craft ink for the title.  I love the addition of the 1 1/4 inch Rich Razzleberry striped ribbon.  The second page is pics of my kids smiling.  The first pic is them as babies, the ones besides are them now.  Hard to believe that the oldest is going to be 20.  These are my joy, my bliss, my family.  The walking, germ ridden, incubating petri dishes that they are.

Part Deux

Me again!

Happy to see you again.

Today I have another project from the workshop I did.  The ladies all got to make one of these fun cards.

This fantastic bright card uses two of my favorite things.  I love the Pom Pom trim and the stamp set Bring on the Cake from the current mini.  I am going to miss them so much when they go.  One of the best hings about this card, is that if you purchase what you need to make it (and many many others), you get the Ice Cream Parlor Ribbon and Buttons pack for free.  FREE!!!!!

The bad news is that this offer (and all other Sale-A-Bration products) end on March 31.  Now, don't be sad, there is still time to get yours too. :)  Contact me today and you could be doing the dance of joy very soon.

Thanks for stopping by,
