Cute Club Cards

Hello again!

Last time I shared with you one of the cute cards my club would be making.  Today, I wanted to share with you the other two cards they made.

This first one was inspired by a card that all the demonstrators who went to leadership made.  I used my Color Coach to help me pick colors that were out my usual color choice box, and I have to say, I LOVE IT!

This second card was inspired by my friend Lisa, but I know there are a few different versions out there on the net.  It always reminds me of the old (80's) Faberge Shampoo commercials when something like this happens.  You know, "I told 2 friends, and they told 2 friends, and so on and so on."  If you are too young to know what I am talking about, don't tell me.  Just watch this:

But, enough of that!  Here is the card that got me off topic.

I used the petal cone die to make this cute Ice Cream card.  I also smoohed the Pretty in Pink pieces with the Vanilla Smooch for some extra shimmer.  Here is a better look.

Get Crafty!

Hi again!

On the weekend I had a great opportunity to go and stamp with a local group of Girl Guides, Sparks , and Brownies.  It was a full afternoon, but I had so much fun.  Lisa joined me and together we made some great projects for the girls to enjoy.

One of the projects was this cute and simple Valentine's Card.

The girls all loved them.  They loved using the heart punch and then we got into a discussion about which were hugs and which were kisses( x or o), and who to give their card to.  I told on egirl she could give it to her boyfriend, and her response had me laughing so hard.  She said, "I can't give it to him, then he'll know I am his girlfriend!"  It was priceless!

Now, I had an idea in my head for a more "grown up" version of this card.  Something that incorporated a few more elements and made the card a little more sophisticated.  This is what I came up with.

It has all the elements that make a stepped up card.  It has pattern, texture, dimension and shine.  I really like it.  I love the way the glimmer paper and the satin ribbon jazz up a really cute card.

This stepped up card is going to be one of the projects that my stamp club will be doing this month.

What I Love

Hello again.

This week my hubby and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary.  I love him and the life that we have created together.  He has always been nothing but supportive, and he works so hard to help me enjoy whatI do.  He is truly the reason why I am able to create.

I wanted to share with him how important he is to me and the best way I know how is to paper craft.  I made this beautiful photo block for him.

I took 4 photos (and did some nice editing to make everything but my bouquet black and white.  I adhered them around the sides of the block.

Then, I really jazzed up the top with some Cherry Cobbler cardstock that stamped and sponged.  I also added some of the organza ribbon and some of the  newly retired black lace ribbon.

Of course, the best part of the top is the rose and the punched sentiment.  I made the rose using the Extra Large Fancy Flower punch and stuck a basic pearl in the center of it.

He was really touched by this and loves it.  I do too.

Back from the trenches

Wow!  So the Countdown to Christmas stopped a little short.  Sorry.  Funny thing is . . .it came anyway.  I ended up with less time in the days than I had planned for so something had to get put to the side.  Unfortunately, it was my blog.  Secretly, I was hoping that oyu were all just as busy as me and wouldn't notice.  However, I know I few of you did.  Sorry again.

But now, Christmas is done, leftovers are long gone, the Christmas baking is dwindling, kids are back in school, and my crafting space is new cleaned and organized.  I feel rejuvenated and remojoified (new word).

So, I am going to start the New Year fresh (if a little late) and get back to sharing what I love.

Thanks for stopping by.
