Babies!!!

I was asked to make a card for someone who is having twins.  Twins!  That is soooo exciting.  Although, this is her second set, so it might just be old hat for her.  She is having a boy/girl pair so I incorporated both into this card.

This card is fairly simple, but so soft and sweet.  I really resisted the urge to add glitter and bling to the strollers.  I think that glitter would have been nice, but this way it has a nice crisp, clean look to it.  I got to delve into my soft subtles paper for this card.  I used Barely Banana for the card base, Bashful Blue and Pretty in Pink for the embossed panels, and Barely Banana again for the mat of the stamped image.  The cute little stroller comes from Fun and Fast Notes (#113500).  When I mounted these, I separated the greeting and the image.  The greeting it mounted on the side, and the image is on the base.  This set is a great go to set for making "fun and fast notes"  (perfect name, then).  It is versatile and a great staple in any stamping "pantry".  I dressed it up by using the Whisper White satin ribbon, and the 1/4 gros grain ribbon in Bashful Blue and Pretty in Pink.  I think Lisa is finally rubbing off on me.  My bows turned out awesome!!!

Next I will be working on my daughter's birthday invitations.  She is having a FIESTA! type party.  Bold Brights, here I come!

Monkey See . . .

Sherri do.

My daughter had another birthday party to attend today.  It was for her BFF and it was monkey themed.  I made the cutest card and gift box set for her.

Aren't they great?  Here is a closer look at the box.

The branches are attached to the lid.

And here is a closer look at the card.

I had such a good time making this set.  And, it was surprisingly easy.

Garden Party Birthday

Hello again!

My daughter was invited to a "Garden Party" birthday and she asked me to make a "bright green card with a really big pink flower on the front.  I don't care how you do it, but that is what I want."  Can you believe that?!!  So, I went through my papers and think I came up with something pretty cute.  I also made a matching gift bag to hold the Webkinz we got the girl.

I think I met all the requirements.  Let me know.

Tomorrow we have another party that is monkey themed, so that card will be really fun to make.  Check back to see what I came up with.

Punch Art Teacher

A good friend of mine asked me to make a thank you card for a teacher.  I did some blog surfing and came upon Blinkin', Thinkin', & Inkin' and got some great inspiration.  She is super talented.  I found a lot of other things that I want to try for myself there.  Thank you Ellen for sharing so much of your art with the world!

So, after way too long on Ellen's blog and a few too many cups of coffee, here is the card I came up with.

HAHAHAHAHA!  Isn't she just about the funniest thing you have ever seen?!!  I love it!  I hope you do too.

My Sweet Angel (for a day)

This past Saturday was my daughter's First Communion.  I still had my dress from when I celebrated First Communion and it fit Charlotte perfectly, so we decided she would wear it.  It was cute, and in great shape for a 33 year old dress.  But, it was a little simple.

See.  It is a sweet little eyelet lace dress, nothing too fancy, but has some pretty detailing.  So, I decided to make some cute accessories to dress it up and personalize it.

I used the largest flowers from the Pretties Kit (#109114), the Filigree Designer Brads (#112577), the pink gem brads from the Circle Fire Brad collection (#109110), and the Pretty in Pink Corduroy Buttons (#117681) to fancy up some wide satin ribbon for a sash.  To make a simple headband stand out as something special I used the same flowers (with the smaller size embellishments) but first I wrapped the headband in our Pretty in Pink 5/8" satin ribbon (#117289).

Don't they look beautiful just sitting on my table?  Wanna see them make a special dress even better?

I am so pleased with the way this turned out.  Charlotte looked and felt so special, being able to wear something that was mine on a special day, and  having it personalized and unique with the addition of the flowers really completed the day.

But You Don't Look 40??!!!

It's true, I know.  But, today I really am 40.  What's my secret?  Ok, I will tell you.  Come a little closer . . . .

Hair dye.  And the stubborn refusal to act my age.  If I was a certain type of man, I would have a flashy red sports car and a girlfriend.  Thankfully, I don't have to go far for my indulgence.  I have my stamps.

I also have great people who love me.  I have mentioned that I am crazy for LOST, right?  Well, look what my eldest (Logan) bought me for my birthday.

Isn't he fantastic?!  He had it made special for me at this great little bakery called Crazy Cakes.  They have the most delicious, decadent cakes.  The only bad part is having to wait until after supper to have a taste.

More magnificent flowers

Some of the last flowers that I want to show you are some of my favorite.

Aren't they gorgeous?  I simply loved making these.  To make these you need the Extra Large Fancy Flower (#118073) some ink, a dowel, and some sort of liquid adhesive.  I used my Tombow Multi liquid glue ( I LOVE this stuff).  I topped them on a matchbox made with the Big Shot (you gotta have this) and the Matchbox die (#114890) and Razzleberry Lemonade designer series paper (#115675).
Of course, no little present is complete without chocolate, so I wrapped some nuggets in this same paper and tucked them inside.  I tied it with some of our beautiful satin ribbon in whisper white (#114616) and it is a beautiful gift for someone special.  I really enjoyed making these.  If you have any questions or praise please leave a comment.
